Regions tackling skills challenges for the green and digital transitions under the pact for skills
We are excited to participate in this year’s EURegionsWeek on Tuesday October 11th, at 14:40-16:00!
The participatory lab will allow regional and local stakeholders to share their experiences in implementing skilling actions to tackle the challenges posed by the green and digital transitions. ECRN Monika Banka will discuss with Valerie Somerville, EU Funding Manager for Skillnet Ireland, William Hammonds, Associate Director EU Social Policy, Ecorys & Pact for Skills Guidance Hub Coordinator, will moderate the panel. The participatory lab will be hosted online, in partnership with EU Commissions' DG EMPL.
Our experience in the Pact for Skills will serve as an example to encourage stakeholders working together to pool resources and have greater impact. We believe that showcasing positive experiences can entice other regional and local players to join the Pact.
On the Pact:
The Pact for Skills is an engagement project launched by the European Commission in 2020. It aims to support public and private actors with upskilling and reskilling projects, and it does so by providing advice, creating a reliable network, and guiding members through funding opportunities at different levels. Synergy between private and public stakeholders through networks is crucial for fostering effective regional development and can bring increased coherence in the programming and implementation of activities related to skills development.
