On 10 April 2013, the Committee of the Regions organized a conference on EU Industrial Policy. The conference was a part of series of events highlighting the importance of European regions and cities in implementing the Europe 2020 strategy and its flagship initiatives. The ECRN President and the Minister for Science and Economy of Saxony-Anhalt (Germany), Prof. Dr. Birgitta Wolff presented was invited to present her take on the topic in a panel discussion on “Smart regions and cities supporting cluster development and industrial competitiveness”. The ECRN members are currently preparing a strategic position paper on EU Industrial Policy and the network continues its active involvement in European policy discussions.
