Thematic Area Chemicals Meeting and S3Chem Final Conference in Halle

25th of February: Thematic Area Chemicals Meeting
In order to explore synergies between the Interreg Europe Programme and the S3 Platform for Industrial Modernisation, the first Working meeting of Thematic Area Chemicals will be held back to back with the Final Conference of the S3Chem project, on the 25th of February in Halle.
The lead regions of the partnership (Lombardy (IT), Limburg (NL)) together with the partner regions (Mazowieckie (PL), Wallonia (BE), Usti nad Labem (CZ), Catalonia (ES), Ostrobothnia (FI)), with the support of ECRN and ReConfirm will meet to discuss and decide upon the key priority areas on which the partnership will be focused. The partner regions will then concentrate their work on these priority areas and scout concrete project ideas with interregional dimension and added value. The meeting will set the grounds for long-term partnership between the regions that aims to span over a lifetime of a single project.

26th of February: S3Chem Final Conference
Under the S3Chem Smart Chemistry Specialisation Strategy, the S3Chem project’s final interregional working group meeting, site visit, as well as the third dissemination conference, will take place in Halle (Saale), on 26th and 27th of February. The aim of this final conference is to present the final results of the project implementation in phase 1 and to introduce the regional action plans to a broader audience. Stakeholders from the chemical industry are warmly invited to join the event.
During the event, Regional Innovation Strategies for Chemistry and Bioeconomy will be presented by representatives of the partner regions and stakeholders of the project. Saxony-Anhalt will present the Experiences and Results of its innovation promotion in the lead Market Chemistry and Bioeconomy and the Innovation funding programmes in the region, while Competence Network Chemie+ will explore the future of chemistry and circular economy. Moreover, the partner regions (Saxony-Anhalt, Limburg, Catalonia, Asturias, Lombardy, Wallonia and Masovia) will present their action plans. Finally, the Director of ECRN, Renarka Krcova has been invited to speak about strengthening interregional cooperation through the Smart Specialisation Platform for Chemistry.
