- An updated work plan on design-for-recycling, which lists 26 plastic product categories that the alliance commits to make recyclable. These 26 categories cover packaging, construction, agriculture, and home appliances that altogether account for over 60% of plastic waste collected in Europe.
Launched in December 2018, CPA today has 293 signatories from industry, academia and the public sector.
ECRN officially joined in 2021. The network contributes to the Alliance by facilitating interregional cooperation and disseminating innovative solutions and technologies developed by its member regions to halt plastic waste and advance recycling. In particular, chemical recycling is crucial in that it can treat plastic waste that cannot be mechanically recycled.
