Currently in Europe, 42% of the annual 17.8 Mt of post-consumer plastic packaging waste is collected for recycling. This does not mean that the same amount is also effectively recycled. SYSCHEMIQ aims to make a step-change in the transition to a circular plastics economy by closing this gap through a systemic approach, from collection to recycling for Mixed Plastic Waste and unlock large amounts of these plastic waste streams as potential feedstock to replace virgin plastic.
