In the framework of the First Global Sustainable Chemistry Week, on 10 November 2021 ECRN organised an online event to discuss the role of regions as key players in the transition to a sustainable and circular chemical sector.
The main aim of this event was to boost interregional cooperation to support the transition to the sustainable and circular chemical industry. We will present the projects developed under the Chemical Partnership on S3Platform for Industrial Modernization and discuss the new solutions that can be multiplied and applied by other partners.
ECRN advocates for a stronger regional dimension in European strategies and policies related to the chemical industry. We believe that the chemical industry can effectively respond to Europe’s societal challenges with sustainable and innovative solutions if its economic growth is linked to territorial development. By bringing concrete local experiences and solutions into EU policy-making, the network aims to bridge the gap between policy elaboration and local impact.
Knowing the regional needs and trends, we want to engage relevant stakeholders through the entire value chain to provide an overview of the existing opportunities for cooperation and potential investment projects.
