ECRN welcomes its first affiliated member, the West Pomeranian Chemical Cluster “Green Chemistry”

ECRN is glad to welcome the West Pomeranian Chemical Cluster “Green Chemistry” as the first affiliated member of the network. The decision was officially endorsed by ECRN Members during the Extraordinary General Assembly that took place on 4th November 2021.

Established in 2007, Green Chemistry is one of the most prominent clusters in Poland and represents the chemical and biotechnology industry at the national and European level. It counts 180 members, including 40 large companies and 125 SMEs, but also local authorities, scientific and business environment institutions. Altogether, the cluster members employ 38,000 workers and generate an overall turnover of more than 26 bln, of which more than half is associated with exports.

Green Chemistry is particularly active at the European and international level, presenting a high level of internationalization and recognition. The decision to join ECRN goes in the same direction, enhancing the presence and visibility of the cluster in Brussels and creating opportunities of cooperation with other European regions and chemical organisations.

As the West Pomeranian Chemical Cluster is mainly a business-oriented organisation, ECRN will greatly benefit from this new affiliated member and step up its efforts to bridge the gap between regional authorities and chemical industries, fostering a closer collaboration and dialogue.
