ECRN is proud to participate in the roundtable hosted by the Polish Chamber of Chemical Industry: EU Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability - objectives, initiatives, challenges and concerns.

We will join the other speakers and guests in Warsaw, Poland, on 28 September. As the title outlines, we will be discussing the main contents of the Chemical Strategy for Sustainability (CSS), the upcoming revision of REACH and CLP, the new rules for risk assessment and their possible implication for the Polish chemical industry. Market participants will discuss with national and EU administrations, to share challenges and concerns.

The CSS, adopted in October 2020, is one of the pillars of the European Green Deal. The Strategy aims to minimize negative impacts of chemicals on people and the environment, making a step forward towards a zero-pollution ambition. But it also boosts innovation for safe and sustainable chemicals, recognising the key role of chemicals in the transition.

The Strategy, together with REACH and CLP revision, will have a strong impact on the functioning of the chemical industry and related sectors in Poland, and cooperation with public administrations will be essential for the resilience and development of the sector.
