ECRN General Assembly welcomed new member Zuid-Holland and discussed steps for the second half of 2019

ECRN successfully held its annual General Assembly on 26th June, hosted in the Lombardy Representation to the EU, in Brussels.

The Assembly’s agenda was packed. We welcomed the latest member of our family – Zuid-Holland – and heard from their EU representative, Mrs. Spuijbroek, the main topics of interest for the region. She presented to the Assembly key elements of the Province’s economic situation and stated the openness of the region for inter-regional cooperation in topics of common interest.

Members received reports from the President and the Secretariat and voted the new ECRN Rules of procedure – last steps in the establishment of the new ECRN legal entity under Belgian law. Constructive discussions took place on several topics, among which the Action Plan and the steps for the second half of the year. The network is moving forward and ready to work with the newly elected MEPs, as members will present their aims and ambition during a Parliamentary evening to be organised this Autumn.

Eventually, the Assembly thanked former director Mrs. Krcova for her investment in the network and launched the process of hiring a new director.

The Assembly will keep on its dynamic interaction and meet again in November to determine the long term plans of the network.
