The transition towards more sustainable, resilient and competitive agri-food systems requires not only innovation and policy support, but also the right skills and training frameworks. As circularity becomes an increasingly important dimension of the agricultural transition, new competences and professional profiles are needed to help workers, learners and future professionals respond to changing environmental, economic and social demands.
In this context, vocational education and training has a strategic role to play. Strengthening circular skills in agriculture means equipping the sector with practical knowledge, innovative learning tools and stronger links between education providers, employers, public authorities and territorial actors.
The ACE-EX project was developed as a contribution to this objective. By promoting circularity-related competences in agriculture and testing innovative training methodologies, the project offers concrete experience on how European cooperation can support the modernisation of agricultural education and the attractiveness of the sector for future generations.
The final event aims to place these results within the wider European policy debate on the future of agriculture, skills, circular economy and social sustainability. Bringing together institutional representatives, sector stakeholders, social partners and regional actors, it will offer a platform to reflect on how circularity is reshaping jobs and competences in agriculture, and how stronger synergies can be built between policy priorities, training systems and practical implementation.
