Brussels, 03/11/2025 – The European Chemical Regions Network (ECRN) is delighted to announce the expansion of its network with the addition of two new members: the Free State of Bavaria and the Generalitat Valenciana.

This expansion marks an important milestone for ECRN, further strengthening its collective voice and increasing its weight at the European level. The growing diversity of our membership reinforces ECRN’s role as a key platform for regional cooperation, policy dialogue, and strategic engagement in shaping the future of the European chemical industry.

The inclusion of these two dynamic regions enriches the network’s expertise and perspectives, contributing to a stronger, more united approach toward achieving a sustainable, innovative, and competitive chemical sector across Europe.

Bavarian State Secretary for Economic Affairs Tobias Gotthardt said:
“By joining the ECRN, Bavaria is strengthening its role as a leading European chemical region, underscoring our dedication to an innovative and future-proof industry. Together with partner regions, we aim to strategically shape the necessary conditions for the sector and address the monumental task of transformation, particularly the shift toward climate neutrality and the circular economy. This European solidarity is vital for securing the long-term competitiveness and prosperity of our region.”

Mr. Carrasco, Regional Deputy Minister of Industry of the Generalitat Valenciana, commented:
