ECRN grants Honorary Patronage to the 12th Polish Chemistry Congress

ECRN is proud to announce that it will assume the honorary patronage of the upcoming Polish Chemical Industry Congress, scheduled to take place in Cracow on 29-30 May 2025.

The 12th edition of the Polish Chemistry Congress will be held on 29 and 30 May 2025 in Krakow (at the Fabryczna 13 Conference Centre). It is the most important and largest event of the chemical industry in Poland and Central Europe.
Every year, the two-day meeting organised by the Polish Chamber of Chemical Industry (PIPC) is an excellent
opportunity to discuss the current situation of the chemical industry with hundreds of representatives of business, public
administration, science, as well as experts from industry organisations.

Maria Dolors Núñez, Technology Opportunity Analysis Team Leader at ACCIÓ (Catalan Competitiveness Agency), will represent ECRN at Chemical Industry Package Roundtable.

The 2025 edition of the Polish Chemistry Congress will be held at a special moment for Poland as we are holding the
presidency of the Council of the European Union with the motto “Safety, Europe!”. At the same time, changes on the U.S.
political scene bring further challenges; Europe, including industrial sector and the chemical industry, must prepare and
respond accordingly. In the face of the turbulent economic landscape, increasing regulatory burdens, as well as growing
third-country competitors, the safety of our sector is becoming more and more important. The EU administration,
recognising the loss of its competitive advantage, the increasingly higher level of deindustrialisation of Europe and
excessive regulation of the economy, has declared to introduce an array of measures which will hugely impact the
chemical industry which is facing many challenges.

A major breakthrough is expected to be achieved, and the Polish Chemistry Congress will become a central place for the
debate on the future of the Polish and European chemical industry, whose reliability and competitiveness are key to
guarantee the security of the entire economy. The chemical industry is an important supplier for numerous key sectors,
including pharmaceutical, automotive, food, construction and energy industries.

The agenda of the 12th Polish Chemistry Congress also stipulates the presentation of the best technologies available on
the market. The Polish and European chemical industry urgently needs to regain its position in the global technology race;
hence, the 12th edition of the Polish Chemistry Congress will become a unique platform for exchanging knowledge and
experience in areas concerning energy transition, decarbonisation of the economy and investing in renewable energy
sources (RES). Important discussions will also be held on such topics as research and innovation, digital development,
partnerships with scientific institutions, and infrastructure upgrade. These areas are crucial to the security, development
and competitiveness not only of the chemical sector, but also of the economy as a whole.

Security, strengthening competitiveness, deregulation, access to low-cost energy, decarbonisation and energy transition,
investing in infrastructure upgrade, research and innovation, along with digital development will be the key topics
discussed during the 12th edition of the Polish Chemistry Congress.
